Dear Editor,
The frequent claims of growth in the economy, the shocking WB Report has put a damper on such euphoria, with the revelation that half the population subsists one thousand dollars (GYD) daily and we remain among the poorest in the LATAM and Caribbean regions. This can bring no comfort to the authorities, boasting almost daily of oil finds, in this 21stcentury. This is not from the opposition, but a respected financial institution. It is posited to allow this situation to continue would be indictable. Put a hold on the gas-to-shore and Amalia projects and concentrate attention and assistance to the half in dire need. No less would be too much and hopefully not too late. Do it now!
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
