Kaieteur News – The ongoing Vishnu Super Store T20 cricket competition for teams in the Upper Corentyne Black Bush Polder area is expected to continue today with 15 more matches. There are 30 teams participating in the competition which was originally a 40overs affair. The competition, which was suspended due to the inclement weather, restarted recently and is now being played on a T20 basis.
Results of some more matches played over the last weekend showed -No 70 A. Spartans winning easily over Eagles Cricket Club by 94 runs. Spartans 144 in 15 overs, Tameshwar Ramoutar 47, Chainu 23 and Extras a healthy 44.
Bowling for Eagles CC, Jamal Khan and Andrew Persaud took 2 wickets each. They in reply were bundled out for 50 with Omeshwar Somai taking 2 wickets.
Rama Krishna Academy scored a 69 runs victory over Race Course Vitality after scoring 198 with K. Derup 64 (6×6, 6×4)), T. Ramsarran 46(5×6, 6×4).
Bowling for Race Course Vitality there were 2 wickets for T. Ramsarran and I. Clarke. They in reply were bowled out for 129 with I. Jabbar 35 and R. Jabbar 28.
Bowling for Rama Krishna, T. Deodat took 3, Deolall Deochan 2 and Vishook 2 wickets.
Crabwood Creek Bomb Squad blew away Yakasari Horizon by 58 runs after scoring 114 with Turan Shivaram 57 Not Out, F. Yakoob 24.
Yakasari replied with 56 with S. Neezam 22 not out.
Bowling for CWC Bomb Squad, there were 3 wickets for Baksh.
No 72 Cut and Load got the better of Scotsburg United by 8 wickets. Scotsburg United batted first and were bowled out for 51.
Bowling for Cut and Load there were 2 wickets each for Ramesh Omapersaud and D. Chatterpaul. In reply they reached 52-2 in 6 overs, Jarrel Hassand 32.
In another game No70 MYO made light work of Line Path Cricket Club with an easy 9 wickets win. Line Path with skittled out for 35 with Arif Khan being unplayable with 5-6 and Anand Mohamed 3-12. MYO in reply breezed to 36-1.
In the final game, Just Try turned back the challenge of No49 Challengers with a 3 wickets win. Challengers batted first and were dismissed for 88 in 13.2 overs with J. Brijbassie 36.
Bowling for Just Try, R. Ramdass was the destroyer with 5-21 and N. Naimchan taking 2. In their turn at the wicket they batted on to reach 99-7 with Latish Singh 31.
Bowling for the Challengers there was 3 wickets for B. Samaroo while there were 2 apiece for B. Persaud and J. Brijnauth.
Matches are being played on Sundays and will see two matches being played on the day. The first game start at 09:00 hrs with the second beginning at 14:00hrs. (Samuel Whyte)
