Pensioner found guilty of raping underage girl
Kaieteur News – A 62-year-old man of Devonshire Castle, Essequibo Coast, Region Two was on Wednesday found guilty of raping an underage girl.
Guilty of raping an underage girl, Lalldeo Jagdeo
The convicted rapist, Lalldeo Jagdeo, made his court appearance at the Suddie High Court before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow.
Jagdeo was accused of raping the girl who is under the age of 16 on September 28, 2019 at Lima Sands. A 12-member jury made their deliberation at the end of the trial and determined that he was guilty of the offence.
A probation report was ordered by the court and sentencing was deferred to 25 October 2022 at 13:00 hours.
