Kaieteur News – During the opening of tenders yesterday, it was revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture is looking for a contractor to rehabilitate and extend its Region One staff office building for an estimated cost of $21 million.
The ministry’s project attracted five contractors who submitted bids ranging between $21 million and $23 million for the job. Also opened is a contract for the construction of a primary school at Wakenaam, Region Three. The Ministry of Education project which was retendered and is estimated to cost $90 million saw a total of 11 contractors now vying for the project.

Ministry of Agriculture
Rehabilitation and extension of staff office building at Kumaka, Barima Waini, Region One.
Rehabilitation of existing irrigation structures on the north eastern dam of the East Demerara Water Conservancy- Lot 4 and 5.
Ministry of Education
Construction of primary school at Wakenaam (retendered).
Design, review and supervision for construction of building, Sixth Form College, Region Four.
Design, review and supervision for construction of building, Sixth Form College, Region Two.
Design, review and supervision for construction of building, Sixth Form College, Region Six.
