Kaieteur News – With some $4.7 billion allocated to the Justice sector this year, the Supreme Court of Judicature is gearing to spend some $22.8 million to upgrade the New Amsterdam and Georgetown High Courts.
During the recent opening of tenders it was revealed that the Supreme Court of Judicature was seeking contractors to construct an elevator shaft and execute rehabilitative works at both courts. The work at the Georgetown High Court is estimated to cost $7.7 million while the cost for the works at New Amsterdam is estimated at $15 million. Three contractors have submitted bids for the projects.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking to build a residence for CARICOM Secretary General.

Supreme Court of Judicature
Construction of an elevator shaft and rehabilitation works for Georgetown High Court, Region 4.
Construction of an elevator shaft and rehabilitation works for New Amsterdam High Court, Region 6.
Supply and delivery of judges and magistrate’s minute/ record books.
Provision of security services for rural/ interior courts and living quarters in Regions 1,6,7,8,9 and 10 for the year 2023 for Lots 1 to 7.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Construction of residence of the CARICOM Secretary General.
Guyana Water Inc.
Design, supply, start-up and commissioning of In line filters at Sparendaam and Timehri, Region 4.
Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation
Procurement of surgical instruments.
Office of the Prime Minister
Procurement of electrical spare parts Lot 1-3.
