The Guyana Mixed Martial Arts Karate Association (GMMAKA) hosted its annual tournament – Epic Clash Martial Arts Championship on Sunday, August 28 at the Guyana National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
A release from the GMMAKA stated that all of the competitors turned in an excellent performance and the competition was well attended.
Tyrese Stanton, Adon Gill and Elijah Pollydore won their kumite, Rajiv Kandial took top honours in the sparring, while Alicia Hamid took first place in the traditional Kata.
Manger of Club UWMAA, Ramaya Kandial, congratulated his students on their performance and encouraged the team to work and train harder for the next tournament which will be big and better.
“Special thanks to Director of Sport, Mr. Steve Ninvalle for accepting the invitation and his remarks during the opening ceremony,” the organization said.
