Dear Editor,
As the front pages of the newspapers are filled with the top students of CSEC, I must congratulate them for excellent achievements and record-breaking performances, they put in the investment and sacrifice so they rightfully deserve their due, hope these students can go further and hopefully one day they can make valuable contributions to the country and beyond. To those who did not pass don’t be discouraged, there are many second chances available to you to get an education if you so desire and willing to put in the hard work and sacrifice, after all, failure and disappointment is the best learning lessons there are. Also note the best source of knowledge comes from travelling and interaction with people, if you look around you most of the successful small business owners didn’t do well in school either, but they were willing to work hard to move up in life and so they did. Also note the following people did excellent on their high school exams, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Dr. Ashni Singh, Winston Jordan, and Rafael Trotman to name a few, and the following people didn’t do well in high school exams, Bill Gates (Microsoft), Elon Musk (Tesla), Sam Walton (Walmart) and Richard Branson (Virgin Group of Companies), if you don’t know these people, Google them, they own about 50 percent of the world combined. So again, to the disappointed ones, shrug off the poor exams performance and remember, you can still win the world by pursuing the righteous and virtuous characteristics of a good productive human being or you can choose to be politician.
