Dear Editor,
So “he” did not shake the President’s hand a few days ago. So expectedly childish. We know the opposition has no hope of ever being in office in the future. They had five years in government, this last time around; headed by a military man, who had no idea of what was happening around him or the country, probably had no idea or understood what was in the Exxon contract and worst yet, had nothing much to show for his time in office. This is an opposition that is still living in the past, wallowing in constant grievances. And while that is happening, certain foreigners who can barely speak English are setting up shops all over the place. Most members of the opposition can’t state what they accomplished when they were in power, a few years back-because as we all know; they were so focused on the PPP (which means -Indians), not being in power; that they forget to rule wisely, and show results for their time in office. The opposition is ALL about making loud noises and standing in the way. Well, when the next elections come around I would bet that this present government would take out ads in papers stating what they have accomplished, including those items with flaws. One wonders what the opposition would have on their list? This thuggish behaviour by the “Opposition” is boring. We have opposition MP’s acting like wild cats in parliament. (They should get away with that kind of behaviour?) The opposition would not be talking about Discrimination/Injustices and Divisiveness today; blah, blah blah; if they had been more strategic and run the country smartly when they were in power and had a chance to make a difference.
Frankly speaking, members of the opposition lost their way, years ago when a majority of them focused on the wrong things and failed to take corrective action in so many areas in Guyana. “Exactly” what does the opposition have to offer ALL Guyanese? I repeat ALL Guyanese. So please stand aside.
