Kaieteur News – Canada-based Guyanese left-handed batsman Imran Ali struck a belligerent, unbeaten 73 to lead defending champion Sunshine to a commanding nine-wicket win over Brampton Gladiators in the continuation of the Ontario RoundArm Softball Cricket Association (ORSCA)/Imran Ali Real Estate 15-over knockout competition.
Playing at Hanover Public School ground in Brampton, Toronto, Ali slammed nine sixes and two fours to help team reached 115-1 in 11.4 overs replying to Brampton Gladiators’ 113 all out off 18.1 overs.
Ali got support from his opening partner Ramiz Mohamed who hit 22 while the inform Riaz Kadir was with the consistent Ali on 18.
Earlier, Brampton Gladiators’ innings only got some momentum from the veteran Muniram Karran who scored a patient 35 as Jeetendra Beharry grabbed three wickets for 13 runs from four overs while Ryan Dhoray and Khemraj Harinarain supported with two wickets apiece.
Details from the other games were not available but the quarter-final segment is set for August across the Greater Toronto Area.
