Kaieteur News – The Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc will be hosting the inaugural Ofimak Office Supplies T20 tournament in August.
The competition will be played in the open, over 45 and female categories using the white balls (big ball).
Registration for this tournament will commence on Tuesday and forms can be uplifted at Regal Stationery and Computer Centre, 69 Seaforth Street Campbellville.
The winning and runner up teams in the open and over 45 divisions will take home $75,000 and $25,000 respectively along with trophies, while the winner in the female segment will pocket $40,000 and the runner up $20,000 and trophies.
Teams are asked to note that only round arm bowling will be permitted in the open division.
The organisers are optimistic that the tournament will be successful, following a prolong break in the sport due to covid and teams are asked to register soonest; no entrance fee is required.
The organisers indicated that they are looking to stage matches in Georgetown, East Bank Demerara, West Demerara and East Coast Demerara, dependent on the availability on the venues in those areas.
Regal Stationery and Computer Centre is the sole distributor for Ofimak Office Supplies in Guyana.
Teams can contact Nicholas Boodhoo on 654-1143 for more information on registration.
The competition is set to bowl off on August 21, while the GSCL Inc Prime Minister’s T20 Cup 6 will also be launched on this date.
