An entertaining unbeaten 74 from 26-year-old West Indies Captain Nicholas Pooran spearheaded his team to a five-wicket win against Bangladesh yesterday at Providence as the regional side won the three-match T20I series 2-nil after the first game in Dominica ended in a no-result.

On day in which several streets and Yards in the City were under water from heavy overnight and morning rain the game commenced just 30 minutes late, a testament to the superb drainage at a venue widely regarded as one of World’s fastest drying cricket grounds.
Bangladesh, 1-nil down in the three-match series, elected to bat on a track with a tinge of green and a still fairly fast outfield despite the consistent rain.
Led by 50 off 38 balls with two fours and two sixes from Afif Hossain, 49 off 41 balls with 3 fours and two sixes from Litton Dass and a cameo run-a-ball 20 by Mahmudullah which included two fours and a six as Bangladesh, who has not beaten West Indies in a T20I on West Indian soil, reached 163-5 in 20 overs.
Leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr had 2-25 for West Indies who responded with 169-5 with 10 balls to spare as Pooran ended the contest with a six off Mahmudullah over long-off.
Pooran finished unbeaten on 72 from 31 balls with five fours and five sixes while Kyle Mayers smashed five sixes and two fours in his 38 balls 55 as the pair added 85 in a destructive partnership.
When West Indies began their chase, Brandon King (7) fell to Nasum Ahmed at 9-1 after hitting a six off the first legal delivery of the innings and it was soon 22-2 when Mahedi Hasan got rid of Shamarh Brooks (12).
Odean Smith, surprisingly asked to bat at four, was lbw to Shakib for two at 43-3 before Pooran joined Mayers.
The pair went after the bowling with disdain with boundaries coming at a fast and furious pace as the partisan gathering danced and as they waved flags in the stands.
Mayers brought up his first fifty with a six off Mosaddek Hossain, while Pooran soon reached his ninth half-century before a glorious cut off Shoriful Islam found the gap between point and short third man as not a man moved as the balls raced the boundary.
Mayers clobbered Hossain for six to the delight of the fans before he was removed by Nasum Ahmed at 128-4.
Rovman Powell (5) departed at 153-6 before Pooran ended the contest in emphatic fashion.
Earlier, a small, but vocal working day working crowd watched as Anamul Haque and Litton Das provided the tourists with a good start in sunny conditions.
Anamul (10) flicked Smith for four before he got an outside edged as he tried to work a short ball of Smith into the on-side and was taken at third man in the fifth over at 35-1.
The dangerous Shakib (5) was soon removed by Romario Shepherd at 42-2.
Mahmudullah joined Dass and they batted confidently, but with the stand at 57 and the score on 99 Dass was removed by Walsh.
Mahmudullah hit Shepherd for back to back boundaries including a six and along with Afif Hossain added a further 49 before Walsh struck again when he trapped Mahmudullah LBW at 148-4.
The 150 was posted in the penultimate over before Afif Hossain was run out while Mosaddek Hossain smashed two fours in 10 from six balls to take Bangladesh to a 160 plus total.
The first match of the three ODIs will be start on Sunday from 09:30HRS.
