Dear Editor,
I sometimes wonder if I do myself a grave injustice by looking at the daily newspapers in the morning. As I turn the pages, I am flooded by episodes of injustice, murder of the old, murder of the young, domestic violence, fraud, racial tensions, illegalities – you name it, and I am tempted to despair.
I heard the President in a recent recording giving us a timely reminder that the grave is the final destination for each of us (from a human stand point) – whether we live like paupers or princes; whether we do good or evil. I would like to add that there is life beyond the grave. As it is written in the scriptures, “so then each of us shall give account of himself to God”—Romans 14:12.
I urge us all to live with eternity in view, “for what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” [Mark 8:36]
