Kaieteur News – Guyana’s first real estate association – Guyana Association of Real Estate Professionals (GAREP) – was on Friday launched at the Tower Hotel located on Main Street, Georgetown.
In a release, the newly formed association stated that the main objective of the organisation is to bring Guyana on par with international standards in the real estate industry.
Attending the launching ceremony at the city hotel was the European Union’s Ambassador to Guyana, Fernando Ponz-Canto and Bramdev Tyagi, a representative of the Indian High Commission.
Ponz Canto was quoted as saying, ‘real estate is the foundation of all great wealth in a country and I’m happy to see that such interest and effort being made by this group to elevate Guyana to world class standards.”
After the two diplomats made their brief remarks, the Association’s logo was unveiled by members of the association’s IMC (an executive committee within the organisation) body.
The members of the IMC are Melissa Khan, Neil Mcphoy, Ramkumar Jewanram, Petes Persaud, Stanley Wills, Sandy Harry, Nicola Duggan, Kerron Boston, Cassandra Bidajhar, Avinash Balac, Eurie Hohenkirk, Ulric Mentore, Ryan Gomes and Amrita Sookram.
According, GAREP, membership of the organisation is open to all persons interested in the real estate business and also willing to contribute towards the development of the industry.
