Dear Editor,
In the spirit of the festival of Eid and for the sake of the ‘One Guyana’ platform, it has to be asked shouldn’t the OL and members of the parliamentary opposition have been invited to the Eid dinner hosted at State House?
Occasions such as these can be used to foster unity and camaraderie between opposing sides and should be pursued. Staying with Eid, it was found the inclusion of political overtones in some speeches took away from the reason for the festival.
Regards,
Shamshun Mohamed
