A number of good all round performances were recorded when play continued in the latest round of matches of the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) organised Vishnu Super Store Upper Corentyne Cricket Association 40 overs competition.
Results of matches showed that Crabwood Bomb Squad defeated No. 73 Young warriors by 27 runs as the latter scored 161. Azad Mohamed top scored with 43 and received support from Mahadeo (21) and Lakeram Latchman (20). Extras made the next major role with a whopping 42.
Parsram Persaud led the bowling for Young Warriors with 5-29. In reply, they were dismissed for 134 with meager scores from the batters. Ravindra Sikwa was top of the batting list with 18 while extras top scored with 46.
Bomb Squad’s bowling attack was also led by Mohammed who ended with five wickets while Lakeram supported with 3 wickets.
No. 70 MYO got the better of 69 Red Rose by 5 wickets in their match. Red Rose were dismissed for 96 as Mohammed Khan ripped through the battling line up to claim 4 wickets. The MYO unit returned to reach 95-5 as R. Khan N. Khan and A. Khan all contributed 15 runs each. Extras totaled to 18 from the bowling attack as 2 wickets went to Prahalad and Narindatt.
No 69 Vikings defeated Eagles by 104 runs after making 182. Ramsarran (48), H. February (45), V. Gooniah (31), D. Gessie (26) and A. Nohar (24) were all crucial to the score posted. Eagles were then bundled out for 78 as A. Seecharran took 4-6 for the Vikings.
In another game, No. 72 Cut and Load was too strong for Crabwood Creek (CWC) Sports Club as they defeated them by 94 runs. The winner scored 216 with solid scores from S. Somo (50), Kadil Azib (48), Zahir Shaw (37), Deoprakash Ramdat (26) and extras (20).
For CWC SC, two wickets each were picked up by L. Tameshwar and N. Chandardat. In reply, they fell short on 122 with S. Segobin (35), N Chalitar (34) and extras (27) contributing the most. Bowling for Cut and Load, Ramdat claimed 3 wickets and while Edwards had two to his name.
