Kaieteur News – More than four years after a wanted bulletin was issued for him in relation to the murder of Taj Andrew Jarvis, 33-year-old Damian Bissoon who recently surrendered was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgtown Magistrates’ Court.
Bissoon, a porter of Shell Road Kitty, Georgetown, surrendered on Monday. On Wednesday, he was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
He was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which states that on March 30, 2018, in the vicinity of Barr and Alexander St
reets, Kitty, he murdered Jarvis of Dowding Street, Kitty. According to reports, Jarvis was fatally stabbed on Good Friday night in the vicinity of Barr and Alexander Streets, Kitty.
The incident reportedly occurred around 20:00 hours over money. At the time of the killing, the victim was seen walking with his friend along Alexander Street when Bissoon confronted him and demanded money. Bissoon was represented attorney-at-law George Thomas and is expected to make his next court appearance on May 17, 2022.
