Dear Editor,
With so much happening globally, I wonder how many people saw this coming. Pakistan’s recent PM has been kicked out of office. A New PM is now in place as of a couple of days ago. The Ex-PM came into office years ago stating he was going to curb corruption and reform the country. (His words not mine!). However, he could not survive a recent no-confidence vote. The ousted PM didn’t deliver, the people said. Neither could the ex-PM articulate what he had accomplished for the people of Pakistan after years in office. Instead, he blamed the American government as being behind his ouster. Sounds familiar?
Sounds like someone was working from the same playbook as the opposition here. An opposition that didn’t think that for the five years they were at the helm, they had to govern and “Think Smart”, (We are no longer living in the 60’s, 70’s or 80’s). Get big and small things accomplished properly, (things that citizens could see to have a positive impact on their lives or society as a whole is a priority). Seems very few in opposition were attentive or planned for the future. Deliver, Deliver, Deliver – And not just think of everything through the lens of racial issues and division. To be consumed by everything through a racial lens in the 21st century, in an era that is highly driven by technology, without “Thinking Smart” – Has resulted in a 0 percent chance of the opposition ever returning to office in the near future. An opposition with a legacy truly wasted. Not much to show for their time in office. Lessons learned from why the ex-PM of Pakistan was kicked out. (Of all Places).
