Linden Town Week Dewars Dominoes…
Kaieteur News –The heat is on this evening when four teams show up for the semifinal draw in the Linden Town Week ‘Out of Lockdown’ Ansa McAl Trading sponsored, Dewars dominoes tournament at the Pensioners Club in Mackenzie Linden.
So far the rivalry had been stiff and this is expected to be pressure dominoes according to organizer Oswald ‘Speedy’ Charles as two teams will win places in the final and one will get a bye after the draw.
Compliments of Ansa McAl Trading, the tournament’s top team will walk away with $100,000 as the losers in second position collects $50,000 and the third placed team gets $30,000. Trophies are also among the prizes at stake.
Two bottles of the Dewars and two packs of dominoes is guaranteed to all contesting teams in this tournament.
So far two days of this four day competition have been played at different venues.
At the Senior Supervisors Club Cats gained 89 games ahead of Big Landing on 64 and WHO ended with 51 games. Orin Massiah gained the maximum 18 games for Cats as James Bobb-Semple made 17 and Brian Greene 14. For Big Landing, Vincent Small had the maximum 18 games.
In the other game at the Senior Supervisor’s Club, Hustlers led on 83 games in front of Bidders with 80 and Warriors finished on 76.
Asha Cumberbatch marked 17 games for Hustlers while Felix Hooper got 16 and Royston Taylor 15 to top for Bidders.
Over at the Tropical Reflections at Five Corner venue in the second round, Bidders topped with 86 games followed by Big Landing 82 as Warriors ended 62 games.
For the Bidders, Eustace Ageday, Ian Bacchus and Jevon Allicock each made 16 games with Carl Pitt gaining 16 for Big Landing.
In another game played at that venue Swag Boss emerged with 80 games, ahead of Cats 72 and Hustlers finished with 64.
Compton Johnson and Keith Tappin each got 16 games for Swag Boss and Oswald ‘Speedy’ Charles led the way with the maximum 18 games for Cats.
