MMZ face host Enmore today…

Kaieteur News – On a sunny day in Guyana’s second largest County, the Rose Hall Town NAMILCO defeated MMZ USA cricket team by seven wickets on Thursday at the Albion Community Centre Ground in Corentyne, Berbice in 30 overs per side encounter.
Watched by a fair sized crowd at venue which hosted West Indies’ win in the first ever ODI in the West Indies in 1977 against Pakistan, MMZ reached 144-8 off their allotted 30 overs before the Berbice side got to 146-3 with 31 balls to spare.
Playing in the sixth game on their Guyana tour and first in Berbice, Cornelius Jaisingh with an unbeaten 35, Matthew Lutchena, who supported with 24 and Andy Mohammed with 12, were the only batters to offer resistance for the team coming from the just concluded Winter season in New York.
The rapidly improving off-spinner Junior Sinclair captured 2-32 off six overs, while Jeremy Sandia, Keyon Sinclair, Matthew Pottaya had one wicket each.
When RHT NAMILCO began their run-chase, Junior Sinclair fashioned a well-constructed 52 before he departed.
Kevlon Anderson, with a classy undefeated 54 and National player Clinton Pestano contributed 20 as Andy Mohammed, Abdul Shakur, Ushardeva Balgobin took one wicket each.
The game which was set for Bourda against GCC yesterday was called off due to overnight and early morning rain although the sun came out in all of its glory in the afternoon.
The MMZ have lost three matches while winning two games in the six matches they have played so far.
The action continues today with a game against Enmore at Enmore and a night game on the same day at the GCB’s facility at LBI under lights.
Tomorrow the visitors conclude the tour with two games at Meten-Meer-Zorg.The first game against GT Police and second against the home team. MMZ depart for New York on March 28.
