Dear Editor
It is a seriously worrying matter that a state employee would have on the work site guns and ammunition and large amounts of cash. Just what was the intended purpose(s) of these items it must be queried? How was it possible for these items to find their way on the work site premises? Was it an act of collusion…security breach…with nefarious intentions? What next would employees bring to their work site?
Pilfering from state agencies is nothing new. The recent exposed case of fuel taken from the state oil company illegally and which today remains outstanding is a case in point.
The authorities it seems have no answer to the age old problem of pilfering at state agencies. Employees would find and exploit the weaknesses in the system to their advantage and benefit.
Regards
Shamshun Mohamed
