Dear Editor,
Maybe it is not too early to get into the campaign mode and let your plans and promises be known. This was certainly the case of the recently anointed leader of the huge party comprising the umbrella of the coalition with the announcement the party would scrap personal income tax, if elected to government, since the country is now in the big leagues – oil producer-exporter nation, (Demerara Waves Online Feb 23).
It is hoped this promise would be remembered, should the desired outcome be realised, and not, like another promise made to rice farmers a few short years ago, which was denied as ever being made.
