Kaieteur News – On Friday last, the Demerara Cricket Board received sponsorship from Premiere Insurance Company for the DCB/Premiere Insurance U15 Inter-association Cricket Tournament. This handing over ceremony was witnessed briefly by members of DCB: Secretary Mr. Davteerth Anandjit, Assistant Secretary Mr. Ronald Williams and Administrator Ms. Kavita Yadram along with CEO of Premiere Insurance Company Mr. Anil Singh who handed over the cheque at the International Energy conference and Exhibition 2022 held at the Guyana Marriott Hotel.
Premiere Insurance INC is one of the newest companies in the Insurance Industry in Guyana and is already making a name for itself. This sponsorship is a positive intervention for Demerara’s youth cricket and its marketing unit.
Speakingfor Premiere Insurance, CEO Mr. Singh was high in praise of the DCB and highlighted Premiere Insurance’s profound interest in collaborating on such a venture, which has immense potential to enhance the cricketing lives of those involved, the U15players. He indicated the company’s willingness to invest through cricket sponsorship for the youths not only in Demerara but other areas. He also stated that he is looking forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship between DCB and Premiere Insurance.
On behalf of the DCB, Secretary and Assistant Secretary expressed their heartfelt thanks to Premiere Insurance for taking up this initiative of this sponsorship and wished the company success in the future and looked forward to a long standing sponsorship in years to come from Premiere Insurance.
The tournament will commence on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 and concludes on Tuesday March 1, 2022. Some of the venues that will be used in this tournament are Everest in Georgetown, Enmore on the East Coast, Farm Ground on the East Bank and Meten-Meer-Zorg on the West Coast just to name a few. This tournament will be used to select the DemeraraU-15 team to participate in the Guyana Cricket Board U-15 inter-county.
