Kaieteur News – The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) wishes to congratulate the Government of Guyana for the historic budgetary allocation to Sports.
GFF President Wayne Forde and Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jr during a visit to the GFF facility at Providence.
Federation President, Wayne Forde posited, “This I believe is a clear and convincing signal of the Government’s determined intentions to invest in the lives of our young people. I would like to commend Minister Charles Ramson and his team for the thoughtful work that resulted in this unprecedented and historic investment in Sports.”
Forde, under whose leadership the GFF has been soaring to great heights, further stated that the GFF has built a very sturdy partnership with the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, which has enabled the two entities to align their strategic priorities for the growth and development of football.
“These priorities are: 1. Infrastructure development – (the upgrade of community grounds). 2. Competition – the staging of established competitions and the creation of new grassroots community tournaments. 3. School football – the establishment of a National nationwide Primary and Secondary school football programme. 4. Capacity building – investing in Coaching education, football administration, officiating and Governance.
I look forward to working with the Honorable Minister in the coming months as he facilitates government’s continued assistance to realise our common goals in 2022.”
