Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – It is true the city cannot be cleaned in a piecemeal fashion (SN Jan 22). But a start was made. What plans were advanced to promote and maintain the initiative, except finger pointing?
The lame attempt to excuse and explain the boycott call to the recent city clean up exercise spearheaded by the government, showed there was no justification for the call. It was merely and continues to be political grandstanding. The mayor and councillors supportive of the boycott missed an opportunity to put unity calls, as being touted by the leading party of the council, into solid action. This can only be viewed as regrettable.
