Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – The report that the massive LPK fire was allegedly due to hazardous oil chemicals stored in the bond where the fire broke out (KN Jan. 18), is reminiscent and has strands of similarity to the Beirut port fire disaster in Lebanon, in August 2020 which resulted in monumental destruction to life, property and the city.
It has to be pondered about the safety measures employed in the storage of the hazardous material in the bond.
