Kaieteur News – The annual elections of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Guyana was held on October 16, 2021.
The following persons were elected to serve as Directors on the Board for the financial year 2021-2022: 1.
Rowena Elliot, Community Manager, Regus, 2. Latoya Jack, Chief Executive Officer, Kronoco Safety Solutions, 3.Aysha Harrop, Finance Director, XL Engineering, 4. Alista Bishop, Managing Director, AX Investment & Consultants, 5. Anna Correia de Sa, Co-owner, ECOPAG, 6. Urica Primus, Co-owner, Stabroek Solutions, 7.
Lance Hinds, Chief Executive Officer, The Brainstreet Group.
The five new Directors appointed are: Aysha Harrop – XL Engineering, Alista Bishop – AX Investment & Consultants, Anna Correia de Sa – ECOPAG, Urica Primus – Stabroek Solutions and Lance Hinds – The Brainstreet Group. The new Executive Committee Members are as follows: 1. President – Rowena Elliot, 2. Vice President – Latoya Jack, 3. Secretary – Urica Primus, 4. Treasurer – Lance Hands.In a release, the Chamber thanked the previous Board of Directors for its work and dedication given in the last year and looks forward to their support and guidance “as we move into this new year.
” The President WCCIG, stated “Having worked with the founders of the WCCIG and members from its inaugural board over the past year, I believe I have gained much insight into the purpose and mandate of the Chamber. The strides made so far are most commendable given the constraints we faced.
I take pride in having the opportunity to carry this mantle and I relish the continued support from our stakeholders and partners as we move to and through the new year. Vice President WCCIG stated: “The Chamber’s mandate is relevant and increasingly significant today and in the future Guyana we are building. I am excited and grateful to be elected to serve my community and country in such a meaningful way.”

WCCG advocates for and actively works to create equal and fair business opportunities by fostering an environment that nurtures the growth of women-owned businesses in Guyana.
