Dear Editor
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup currently taking place in UAE has brought no brief moments of joy and despair for both the recognised and not so recognised teams, as the tournament heads into the home stretch.
Particularly impressive were Afghanistan and lesser known Namibia and Scotland. Disappointing were Bangladesh, India and our own West Indies. So too was the performance of Sri Lanka.
The notable absence of Zimbabwe in this premier event cannot go without comment as it was a saddening situation, whatever the reason for its omission. It is hoped the country will resume its place in international cricket soon. Winners and losers alike: games well fought. You were all magnificent. Hope to see you next time.
Sincerely
Shamshun Mohamed
