The Canada Premier Softball Cricket League (CPSCL) made a financial donation to cancer victim Fiona Ali who is battling with a stage-four Cancer. The presentation was made on Saturday evening last at Kalypso Hut Restaurant in Mississauga where a dinner and dance was held to raise funds for the 32-year-old female who is from Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara, Guyana.

Events Manager of the League, Canada-based Guyanese Munir Bashir and Treasurer Shabana Bashir were on hand to do the presentation. Organiser of the event, Elaine Pooja, in her brief remarks, thanked the League for the donation. She informed that Ali would be happy with this monetary donation and would fight hard to win the battle against the disease.
Ali is currently in Miami undergoing chemotherapy. Munir Bashir stated that his League was more delighted to contribute to a worthy cause and extended best wishes to Ali. Munir further stated that the League, which was formed two years ago, will support any endeavour or venture of this importance.
Munir also thanked the League’s President, Patrick Singh for his supportive role as well. Singh is also a Canada-based Guyanese.
