Kaieteur News – Ershad Ali struck an attacking century while Omesh Danram hit 53 which provided the platform for Mahdia Movements to defeat Team Corruption by 54 runs when the teams collided in a 15-over tapeball fixture recently.
Opener Ali slammed two fours and 19 sixes in his top score of 138 off 41 balls; he was involved in a century stand for the first wicket with Beepaul Bandoo before the latter was dismissed for 25.
Ali and Danram continued to pile on the runs as they added 146 for the second wicket. Danram faced 24 balls and struck six sixes in his innings while Andrew Gibson chipped in with 19. Mahdia Movements Family posted 276-3. Carlos La Rose claimed 3-35 off three overs.
Team Corruption lost an early wicket, but Alex Rodrigues and Nizam Khan kept them in the hunt with a second wicket partnership of 48 before Rodrigues was dismissed for 23. Wayne Joseph went for 21, however Khan and Daniel Ross stabilised the chase, but their efforts fell short of the required target as they managed 222-3.
Khan stroked three fours and 12 sixes in scoring an unbeaten 99 off 38 balls while Ross made 60 not out off 25 balls with three fours and six sixes. Ali returned with the ball to take 2-31 off three overs.
