Dear Editor,
Dr. David Hinds in one of his recent broadcasts said that ridiculing politicians by showing they do not speak the Queen’s English, or showing that they do not have the refinement of good manners, will puncture the balloon of their pomposity.
Measure the following occurrence against Dr. Hinds’ adage: Catherine Hughes and Joseph Harmon, the two shining stars and great powers of the AFC/APNU, recently gave their condolences on the death of dear comrade and friend Imran Khan. Their words were all so moving, but when you look at their faces, it was all smiles. Catherine Hughes, for example, with her lovely, dimpled smile on the verge of hilarity and Old Harmon, with his famous pouty, were casting doubts on the sincerity of their solemn words. The canons of good manners and good taste would forbid the looks of happy pleasure when giving your sympathy. I am, however, sure they would quickly be able to live down this breach of good manners and good taste by pointing out these smiling pictures were put there by the editors.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Validum Ramlochan
