“Young people in business play a huge responsibility in society since they have what it takes to inspire and encourage others with the same fate.”

Kaieteur News – In the fashion world, there is always something new that grabs our attention. It is an evolving industry where more and more people are introducing their own unique style and brand. A popular way that persons are doing this, is by customising the clothing they wear.
One individual whose aim is to provide a service where anyone can come and have their wear modify with their own designs is Aleem DeSantos, the owner of ‘592 G.O.A.T’, a local cap and tees customising business.
DeSantos in an interview with Kaieteur News said that his first business idea came about back in November last year when it was just him “bringing in caps to make a side hustle” on top of his barbering studies. Seeing that it was grabbing people’s attention, in February, he decided to officially launched his customising business venture online.
The young man who grew up in a single-parent household because of the death of his father at an early age, shared that it was his sister who really was the one that inspired him to get into business in the first place. “I always admired my sister for starting a small business shortly after finishing school…She inspired me to get up and do something,” he added. His customising business too, he said, was started to pave a way to bring about an income for himself since his barbering work was not producing much.
When asked what are some of the traits that he brings to the table as a young entrepreneur, the 18-year-old boasted of the uniqueness, quality and creativity that he offers. To put this to test, he said it shows through the number of persons that support his business since its inception.
Speaking of support, the young entrepreneur spoke glowingly of his friends who he said are the ones that have helped to sell his business to the public.
As his business continues to grow, one of his ideal plans in the coming years is to open up a physical location where he would be able to better showcase the products his business has to offer.
Since joining the business arena, he admitted that thus far, he has not encountered too many challenges. Even the global pandemic, COVID-19, which has had a huge impact on some businesses, did not impact his sale. In fact, DeSantos was able to find ways to adapt to it.
Our featured entrepreneur, like many others, is of the belief that “young people in business play a huge responsibility in society since they have what it takes to inspire and encourage others with the same fate.”
He shared too that what is important for businesses that have now started, if for there to be a platform where they can be promoted so that persons can view and know that these types of services are available.
Meanwhile, persons who wish to have their t-shirts or caps customised with their own unique designs can contact DeSantos on Facebook and Instagram @592 GOAT or via his mobile number (592) 655-8761.
