Dear Editor,
Was it a case of the ministers at odds with each other on vaccination requirements for returning Guyanese? One report alleged one minister saying all incoming passengers, including Guyanese passengers needed to be vaccinated (News Source Aug 9). Another minister, the one responsible for health matters is alleged to have said no vaccination required for returning Guyanese passengers just a negative PCR test (News Room Aug 10).
So why the mixed messages which must have caused lots of confusion among passengers, travel agents, airports and airlines? Was the rollout of the new COVID-19 measures done haphazardly and not properly thought through to avoid these kinds of pitfalls?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
