Dear Editor,
We do not seem to be making much headway in the renegotiation of the lopsided ExxonMobil/Guyana oil contract.
The politicians are not keen on renegotiation; ExxonMobil would not be keen on renegotiation as well, especially when renegotiation will put ExxonMobil in a worse financial position. Therefore, Guyana needs to market its oil discoveries more effectively, so that we gain more Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and create more jobs for Guyanese. There are 50 states in the USA where we can market the oil discoveries and other investment opportunities in Guyana. We need trade missions to these states to sell investment ideas in Guyana.
Yours faithfully,
Sean Ori
