Dear Editor,
I would like to first say we are very proud of your publication – one that gives us the truth and reality of life in Guyana – please keep up the good work.
In light of the recent accidents on the West Coast road and specifically the one in Uitvlugt, as a driver, I would like to humbly request that your news agency highlight and publicise the blatant disrespect by some businesses who park trucks and other large vehicles on the public road.
This is a prolonged occurrence at Uitvlugt (exact place of the accident) and of recent on both sides of the roads at West, Meten-Meer-Zorg.
There are also several places in the Tuschen to Ruby area. I am sure that these businessmen have contacts in high office and feel they can do what they wish. In another country, the family of the dead boy could have sued the truck owner for all his worth!
It is sad that the young lad lost his life, which should not have happened in the first place. I am sure other drivers will appreciate some attention given to this life threatening practice.
Thank You.
A teacher & concerned driver
