Dear Editor,
It baffles me that a party, which did not contest the elections nor was part of the umbrella partnership at that time, its leader sits in parliament.
So that party did not contest the elections to bring in the requisite number of votes but is allocated a seat unlike the other parties, who were part of the umbrella and contested elections, but were denied seats. It is further baffling that one party is speaking for that umbrella partnership. The other parties, which comprise the partnership, are voiceless. I seem to think the partnership has its own chairman. Is it a case of might is right or has the partnership been subsumed by the major party?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
