– 103 new cases recorded
Even before the close of the month, 64 persons who tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease have died. Out of that figure, 37 persons were men and 27 were women. From the recorded deaths, Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) leads with the most deaths as a total of 26 persons reportedly died from the virus.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health (MoH) did not record any additional COVID-19 deaths, as such, the toll still stands at 462.
The Ministry in its daily COVID-19 dashboard recorded 103 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 19,877. Out of the confirmed cases, 10,177 are women and 9,700 are men.
The dashboard also revealed that 15 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 89 persons in institutional isolation, 1,630 are in home isolation and five are in institutional quarantine. Additionally, 34 recoveries were recorded yesterday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 17,681.
