Kaieteur News – Wan vote of no-confidence in wan staff member don’t require you to show cause. It does done become cause in itself. Suh when de management or de Board of Directors seh dem lose confidence in wan staff member dat done tun cause in itself.
Loss of confidence and trust long now is legitimate grounds fuh termination. But wan loss of confidence or trust resulting from de commission of certain acts or de omission to do certain acts is also reason for dismissal and not only termination.
Dismissing somebody fuh loss of confidence and trust don’t require wan independent tribunal. Once de movers of de motion fuh dismissal can mek out a case fuh lack of trust and de majority of de Board agree, de person can get dismiss. Why waste money and time in appointing wan independent tribunal?
If every time a manager got fuh dismiss it need wan independent tribunal, den labour laws gan tun pon dem head cause employers gan find it hard to appoint dem every time somebody gat to be dismissed.
Suh dem boys confused by de shenanigans at GEGONE. Dem nah understand why dem gat to have tribunal fuh investigate whether it gat grounds fuh dismissal. Wan employee can get dismiss with or without cause. And wan vote of no-confidence is a cause in itself so dem boys nah know why dem need wan independent tribunal.
De staff of GEGONE dem ain’t public servants. Dem don’t enjoy de security of tenure which public servants enjoy and does get protection from de Constitution. Public servants can only get dismissed by de Public Service Commission. But GEGONE Commissioners can dismiss any of dem staff members and without cause.
GEGONE done do dis before. Dem Boys remember de case of wan man wah tun up fuh wuk one day at GEGONE and find de locks pun he door change.
