DEAR EDITOR,
The ‘black’ remark (whatever happened to such phrases like ‘black is beautiful’ and ‘young, gifted and black”?) perceived as racial, made by a young lady on a passenger vessel, resulting in a violent attack on said young lady, and making its rounds on social media, is of grave concern, as it shows just how weak and fragile our race culture is. It also gives rise to the premise that the previous remark could also be regarded as racial. Of equal concern, though, is the lack of condemnation of the violent attack on the young lady by a young woman also on the passenger vessel. Is it to be seen the attack is condoned and approved? No wonder racial harmony is so elusive!
