Kaieteur News – Cartabo Power Rangers and Eddie Sports Club won the male and female segment when the Eddie Sports Club hosted a fund raising softball competition recently at the Bartica Community Centre ground.
In the male final, Cartabo beat Bataria Five Stars by eight wickets.
Bataria Five Stars batted first and managed 73-4 from their five overs. Mark Clark made 40 and Ivor Boyal 15.
Andrew Simmons took two wickets.
Cartabo Power Rangers responded with 75-2 in 4.3 overs. Simmons made 33 to take the man-of-the-match award.
In the female segment, Eddie Sports Club overcame De Warriors by eight wickets. De Warriors took first strike and scored 36-6 in five overs. Shena John made 16 as Tesha Kenswil and Wendy Daniels took two wickets each. Eddie SC replied with 38-2 in 4.1 overs. Kenswil made 20 and Fiona Mentis 11. Kensil was voted player-of-the-match.
