DEAR EDITOR,
After the catastrophe comes the reminder for high rise buildings to be equipped and outfitted with firefighting systems and equipment along with safety features.
The city landscape is dotted with several high rise buildings and the one take away from this recent disaster is that these buildings must be frequently and routinely inspected and where lacking the requirements must be strictly and rigidly enforced.
There can be no compromise to this.
While their efforts could not save the massive building, fire fighters must be commended for saving surrounding buildings.
Yours truly,
Shamshun Mohamed
