Kaieteur News – A number of top local golfers are expected to be on show when the Lusigan Golf Club )LGC) host the Massy Motors Tournament tomorrow using the 18 holes medal play shot gun start. Prizes will be awarded for best net front 9, best net back 9, best net overall and 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
Speaking at the launching ceremony on Wednesday at Massy Office, Ruimveldt, LGC President Patanjilee Persaud thanked the executives of Massy for their contribution towards the sport and said an exciting tournament is anticipated.
“We would like to thank Massy for partnering with the Club, and this shows the friendly nature of corporate sponsorship in this society. We want to thank them and wish them all the best. We know they have some new things to advertise as they are always coming up with some impressive products. We would like to thank them for playing their role is the development of golf which is a covid friendly sport.”
Persaud encouraged those at Massy to get involved in the sport. Chief Executive Officer of Massy Motors, Rohit Coonjah stated that Massy Guyana is very proud to be a part of the tournament. He urged everyone to practice safety during the pandemic.
The CEO also said that in accordance with their motto, “A Force For Good Creating Value and Transforming Lives,” it is the company’s aim of staying in touch with national activities that aid in the development of the country.
He stated that one such sport in golf and the company has executives that participate actively in competitions and they are happy and look forward for future partnership.
All covid-19 protocols will be observed at the event.
