Kaieteur News – The Friends of Adams/Team Daniels South Essequibo Cricket Development tournament got underway with several matches recently.
Matches in Group A, Jaguars SC got the better of Golden Fleece Under19 by 49 runs. Batting first Jaguars SC scored 121 for 3 off their allotted 12 overs. Orin Gibson struck 66 with four fours and three sixes, while Rayon Da Costa made 20 and Omar Khan 16. Bowling for Golden Fleece, I. Ally had 1 for 23 and R. Seeram 1 – 35. Golden Fleece under 19 responded with 72 – 8. Rohan Persaud made 19, Jared Allicock 17 and S. Muniram 13.
In Group B, Scheme Gunners batted first and scored 110 for 3 with former Guyana under 19 player Norman Fredericks scoring 79 not out with tow fours and seven sixes and Royan Fredericks 16. Bowling for NOC SC Keon Davis took 2 for 18, A. Azim 1 for 10 and J. Paul 1 for 30.
NOC SC replied with 111-3 to win by seven wickets. Mark Gonsalves made 42 and Reyad Mohamed 35 not out. Bowling for Scheme Gunners Matthew Pellew took 2 for 26 and Ryan Fredericks 1 for 20.
In another fixture, Venom batted first scored 136 for 5. Richie Looknauth slammed 61 with three fours and five sixes, Romario Mohabir scored 43 and David Williams 22. Bowling for Crown, M. Raj took 2 for 15 and R. Tagebally 2 for 21. In reply, Crown made 76 all out. Besham Dasrat got 21 and Shannon Jagmohan 16. Bowling for Venom, Richie Looknauth claimed 3 for 16, Sachin Persaud 3 for 8, Ramkissoon Seeram 3 for 8 Anthony Adams 1 for 4.
All matches were played at Golden Fleece Ground under strict COVID-19 guidelines with no spectators.
