Dear Editor,
The prestigious institution of Queen’s College has consulted the parents of the students with regards to the opening of face-to-face school for forms 4 to 6. A survey was carried out by the PTA of the school and there was a majority response stating that parents would prefer that their children not attend physical school as the new way forward for the August term of 2021.
The school and the PTA however will be proceeding with the plan to reopen the school for physical interactions.
They have established a system where teachers have to work from 8:30 to 4:30 daily. Teachers also have their personal lives and families to take care of and it is an intrusion on their timing. There was no democracy in the decision of reopening the school and the parents were ignored.
The teachers now have to work extended hours in order to accommodate teaching periods for all students. As such, we plead with the Ministry of Education to step in and for the public to be aware of the insanity occurring.
Yours truly,
Mark Duplessis
