Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Health (MOH) yesterday reported four new COVID-19 fatalities, increasing the country’s death toll to 235 deaths.
In a press statement, it first reported the deaths of two women; a 91-year-old from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) and an 84-year-old from Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), who died on Wednesday. Subsequently, another statement was released, stating that two more persons succumbed yesterday and they were listed as two males; a 62-year-old from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) and a 45-year-old from Region Four.
It also stated that they all died while receiving treatment at the Ministry’s medical facility. Two of the deaths were not reflected in the dashboard. The MOH also reported a whopping 126 new infections via its daily dashboard update yesterday increasing the case toll to 10,375.
The dashboard shows that 12 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, another 21 in institutional quarantine, 64 in institutional isolation and 907 in home isolation. Additionally, a total of 9,159 persons have recovered to date with 61 new recoveries recorded yesterday.
