Mohammed bowls Queenstown U19 to comfortable win
Kaieteur News – A steady spell from Wazim Mohammed guided Queenstown U19 to a 131-run victory over United Warriors when the Devon Ramnauth Youth Cricket League continued recently on the Essequibo Coast.
Host Queenstown U19 batted first and managed 131-9. Jean Marc Mahase made 29 as Benny Persaud claimed 3-23 in four overs; Shivo Seurattan had 2-18 in four overs and Daniel Dass 2-28 in four overs. United Warriors were bowled out for 12 in reply. Mohammed grabbed 4-4 in 3.5 overs and Jason Holder had 3-5 from four overs.
Wazim Mohammed was named man-of-the-match.
In other matches, Golden Fleece Vikings made 64 all out taking first strike. Imtiyaaz Ally made 20 as Aaron Beharry captured 3-4 in four overs; Uvendra Balgobin had 2-2 from two overs and D. Lall 2-15 from three overs. Reliance Hustlers responded with 65-2. Aaron Beharry made 28 not out. Beharry was named man-of-the-match.
Rising Stars Spartans made 146, taking first knock.
Mavindra Dindyal struck 46 not out while Sachin Singh and Mahesh Ramnarine scored 37 each.
Lance Roberts took 2-18 in four overs.
Essequibo Eagles made 110 all out in reply.
Lance Roberts got 23; Mahendra Basdeo had 2-7 in four overs. Dindyal was voted man-of-the-match.
