DEAR EDITOR,

Two initiatives to be undertaken by the Ministry of Human Services caught my attention. The initiatives are: “Foreign language training for 914 hotline operators” and, “Ministry’s Cottage Industry initiative to target female Venezuelan migrants” which was reported in another section of the media on March 9.
These initiatives are good and strong and can only lead to positive outcomes. It shows a ministry in tune with the demands of changing situations and needs of the people.
It is hoped other emergency services would seize upon the initiative to also have their hotline operators trained in foreign language, so they can better serve and respond to calls of all nationalities, to their respective agencies.
Good initiatives Ministry of Human Services. Keep up the good work.
