Kaieteur News – P and P Insurance and Crown Mining have supported the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc President’s Cup which is set for March 5-7.
Both entity recently presented cheques to GSCL Inc Secretary Telesha Ousman Yamin.
Anupa Lall Receptionist/ Secretary of P and P Insurance, which is located at 272 to 273 Lamaha Street, said they are happy to be part of the competition and they are looking forward to a successful tournament.
Patanjilee Persaud of Crown Mining, which has come on board under the Parsun outboard and Tolsen tools brands, stated that they are pleased to be associated with the President’s Cup. He added that they are passionate about the game and are happy to give back. Persaud said that they hope the tournament will be an annual affair. Both entities pledged their continued support. Ousman Yamin thanked them for their support.
Teams must deposit their refundable $60,000 so as confirm their participation; they must do so today.
The three-day tournament which is organized jointly by the Honourable Counsel of Guyana to Florida, Ramzan Roshanalli and the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Incorporated (GSCL) was launched on Sunday February 7 at the Everest Cricket Club banquet hall with Guyana’s President, His Excellency Dr. Ifraan Ali delivering the feature address and officially committing to the mega tournament.
The inaugural President’s T20 Softball tournament will be played in three categories; Open (All ages), Masters (over-40 years old) and Legends (over-50 years old) at venues in and around Georgetown. (Zaheer Mohamed)
