Kaieteur News – The smell of sea salt and
orchid.
The sun crawls up on the
ocean line, blinding me.
Tiny crabs bury
themselves into the sand.
The sea breeze tangle my
tiny curls like ballerinas
twirling to soft melody.
Baby barks echo in the
distant.
Laughter fills the air as my
father tries to steal my
sister’s bag of seashells.
My tiny toes sink in the
sand as the waves crash
against my feet.
All I feel is happiness…
Haven of tranquillity.
