Kaieteur News – The Guyana Police Force, on Friday continued their drug eradication exercise up the Berbice River, where they destroyed a large quantity of illegal substance.
The latest exercise was conducted between 05:45 and 16:00 hours at Gaetroy, Upper Berbice River.
During the exercise, a farm measuring about 1 ½ acres with about 75,000 plants, one camp with about 50 kilos of dry cannabis and a number of amenities, a nursery with about 10,000 seedlings and 11 live 12-gauge cartridges were found.
The police subsequently destroyed the camp and cannabis plants by fire. The cops took possession of the cartridges. No one was arrested while investigations are ongoing.
