DEAR EDITOR,
Recently there has been news of numerous hotels about to be built in Guyana. Are you serious? During this time, there is no tourism industry due to the effects of COVID-19. No one knows when this pandemic will end.
Even at the best of times, some hotels in Guyana struggle and you want to build more hotels without a tourism industry?
These are clearly White Elephants projects. They are not feasible. I just hope that it is not taxpayers’ monies being used to finance these hotels. Whose idea was it anyway to build hotels during a pandemic, when there is no tourism industry?
Yours faithfully
Sean Ori
